Apple picks senior chip designer from Samsung


Reportedly has a senior Samsung employee resigned and he went to work at rival Apple. The CEO does have a short time at Samsung actually worked.

Jim Mergard came from AMD before he went to work at Samsung. At Samsung Mergard was responsible for computers processors and servers. Nevertheless, he worked only a few months before he switched to Apple, as reported The New York Times.

The American was in Texas responsible for the server branch of Samsung, where the Korean big plans to own a chip to develop efficient and low heat generating server. Meanwhile the manager to work at Apple, where he was to all probability will develop chips for Apple computers.

Apple has long used Intel chips for its laptops and computer and seems now plans to use its mobile processor by developing for computers. The A6 chip is also manufactured by Samsung in Texas, the same location where Mergard of origin. Both Samsung and Apple have not responded to the departure of Mergard.
